General Terms & Conditions

These General Rules were last updated on April 25 2023 and the updates take effect from that date.

1. General Rules

1.1 Who we are and application of these General Rules

1.1.1. 'Group 1 Sports' is a trading name of Group 1 Sports Pty Ltd (hereafter 'Group 1 Sports'), ACN 651 352 591, a company incorporated in Australia under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth). Group 1 Sports is licensed in the Northern Territory ('NT'), Australia by the NT Racing Commission ('NTRC') to accept bets and wagers (together 'bets') by electronic transmission, 24 hours per day. Group 1 Sports complies with the NT Code of Practice for Responsible Service of Online Gambling 2019 and the South Australian Responsible Gambling Code of Practice. All references to 'we', 'us' and 'our' in these General Rules ('Rules') are a reference to Group 1 Sports. The Group 1 Sports NT office is located at 86 Cavenagh St, Darwin NT 0800.

1.2 General

1.2.1 To open a game account with Group 1 Sports ('Account') you must be aged 18 years or older. A 'Member' is a person who holds an Account, and any reference to 'you' or 'your' in these Rules is a reference to a Member.

1.2.2. You agree that the service offered by www.group1sports.com and the Group 1 Sports application is the ability enter and play fantasy sports games, involving real money transactions, offered on the platform.

1.2.3. By opening an Account, you are deemed to have read and accepted these Rules and Group 1 Sports' Privacy Policy. You can view our Privacy Policy on our website located at www.group1sports.com, any pages or websites under the 'Group 1 Sports' brand and any Group 1 Sports mobile phone or tablet applications that are owned and/or operated by us ('Website').

The personal information (as defined by the Privacy Act 1988) of Group 1 Sports' customers may only be stored, accessed, used or disclosed offshore where such storage, access, use or disclosure is in accordance with all Australian laws, including the Privacy Act 1988, and Group 1 Sports' Privacy Policy.

1.2.4. Group 1 Sports reserves the right to change, amend or add to these Rules and the Privacy Policy at our discretion, and will publish such changes on our Website. You agree that any changes, amendments or additions published on our Website will be taken to be effective immediately. It is the Member's responsibility to ensure that they are aware of the current Rules and Privacy Policy.

1.2.5. You acknowledge and agree that by using, browsing or otherwise accessing Group 1 Sports’ Website, including where your Account has been migrated to Group 1 Sports from a third party or related body corporate or where you remain a customer of one of our related bodies corporate and use Group 1 Sports’ platform to play games, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions of use, and our Privacy Policy.

1.2.6. If you wish to become a registered user of Group 1 Sports’ website or app, you will need a user account which is recognised by Group 1 Sports, which may at our discretion include a user account migrated from third parties and related bodies corporate or an existing account we have approved for use on Group 1 Sports’ platform.

1.2.7. On the website and in the application, all real money transactions (deposits, withdrawals, game entry fees, and prize payouts) display amounts in Australian dollars and are prefixed with the “$” currency signifier (e.g. “$19.90” indicates AUD$19.90). All real money transactions are processed in Australian dollars.

1.3. Member obligations

1.3.1. Members are responsible for ensuring that their Account details such as their address, telephone number, email address and payment/bank details (including any Credit card expiration details) are kept up to date and to notify us immediately of any incorrect Account details. In the event that a Member has not kept their Account details up to date, we reserve the right to suspend the Account. Members are responsible for complying with their own local, national or state laws concerning paid gaming prior to either applying to become a Member or playing a game on their Account. In particular, if you are a resident of a country where paid online gaming is prohibited, you must not register with us, attempt to use our services or use your payment card or other payment method to pay game entry fees with us. For legal or commercial reasons, we do not permit Accounts to be opened by, or used from, customers who reside in certain jurisdictions ('Restricted Jurisdictions'.) The list of Restricted Jurisdictions is available at www.group1sports.com, may be changed by us from time to time and you will be deemed to be aware of and accept any changes to this list. You agree that you shall not open an Account, nor attempt to use your Account, if you are within a Restricted Jurisdiction. At this time, the Group 1 Sports application is only available to Australian residents and all jurisdictions outside of Australia are considered Restricted Jurisdictions.

1.3.2. We periodically monitor transactions on Accounts. You accept that if we detect activity which indicates to us that you are or may be within a Restricted Jurisdiction and are or may be playing games on your Account, we may, in our discretion, either suspend or permanently close your Account. You accept that the data available to monitor game play on an Account is not always accurate and Group 1 Sports will use its discretion in allowing game play on your Account while conducting any investigation.

1.3.3. In the event that Group 1 Sports discovers that an Account has been opened by someone who resides in a Restricted Jurisdiction, Group 1 Sports may in its discretion close the Account and request proof of payment method, personal identification and bank account information prior to permitting a withdrawal of the original funds. Winnings may be forfeited if the Account holder opens the Account contrary to these Rules.

1.3.4. Where a person successfully applies for an Account with Group 1 Sports, the Member must then comply with the matters set out in Rules 1.4 (Member identification requirements) to our satisfaction to fully activate their Account and withdraw funds.

1.3.5. A Member must immediately notify Group 1 Sports of any matter (including any potential mental impairment) which may lead us to reasonably infer that your ability to make sound judgments about game play in respect of your Account may be impaired.

1.4. Member identification requirements

1.4.1. Members are required to provide Group 1 Sports with adequate identification information for the purposes of complying with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth) ('Act'.) The Act provides for Australian Government standards of identification for proof of name, age and residential address, with which Group 1 Sports is required to comply for the purposes of considering an application to open an Account.

1.4.2. As of May 2022, Group 1 Sports is required by the Act to verify a Member's identification information within 72 hours of the Member opening an Account. If a Member's identification information is not verified within 72 hours, their Account will be suspended and the Member will be unable to withdraw funds from their Account until it is verified. Visit www.group1sports.com or contact support@group1sports.com to view Group 1 Sports ID requirements.

1.4.3. Member 'identification information ('ID') means your name, residential address ('address') and date of birth, as provided to Group 1 Sports upon applying for your Account. Members who do not provide full details up front may have their Accounts suspended, without notice, pending an investigation.

1.4.4. After a Member creates their account with Group 1 Sports, a Member accepts that Group 1 Sports will supply the Member's ID to a third party (e.g., Green ID, Veda Advantage Solutions Group, Edentiti, Dun & Bradstreet) for the purpose of ID verification, which may involve checking the Member's ID against third party databases and/or credit headers. Unfortunately, the verification process available is not perfect and we cannot verify 100% of our Members this way. This is not a fault of individual Members. No personal financial information of a Member is passed between third party ID verification providers and Group 1 Sports. Group 1 Sports may also use other public information services to confirm a Members' identity.

1.4.5. Group 1 Sports also requires proof of a Member's current address. If the Member's address is not on the front or back of one of the types of photographic identification referred to in Rule 1.4.7, the Member must provide proof of current address acceptable to Group 1 Sports. Acceptable proof of current address in such circumstances may include, at Group 1 Sports’ discretion, a certified copy of one or more of the following documents (which must be dated no more than 3 months prior to the date that the Member provides the document to Group 1 Sports):
a) a rates notice;
b) a utility bill; or
c) a statement from a financial institution.

1.4.6. All certified documents must be produced in the English language or they will be rejected. Group 1 Sports reserves the right to carry out checks on the individual certifying documents and to get in touch with them to verify the validity of the document. Group 1 Sports may in its discretion reject certified documents for any reason.

1.4.7. Group 1 Sports may at any time request acceptable photographic identification and proof of a Member's current address from a Member to ensure that all information supplied by the Member is up to date. This may require official certification of a Member's ID documents by a permitted Certifier upon our request.

1.4.8. Should a Member deliberately falsify any ID or any other details for any purpose associated with applying for an Account or transacting on the Account, Group 1 Sports reserves the right to suspend the Account and/or close the Account without prior notification to the Member.

1.4.9. If a Prepaid/Virtual/Electronic/Travel/Debit/Credit card is to be used by a Member to fund the Account, legible copies of the front of the applicable card may be requested by Group 1 Sports for its approval. Group 1 Sports reserves the right at its discretion to refuse to accept a Credit card including but not limited to in circumstances where the Credit card is dishonoured. Credit cards used to fund a Member's Account must match the Member's Account details. Credit cards with a name other than that which is registered with Group 1 Sports for the Account in question will be refused and the Account may be suspended until proof of consent is provided by the third party cardholder. Group 1 Sports reserves the right to request a copy of the front of the card registered on the Account at any time. Receipt of a card is no guarantee of Account activation/re-activation.

1.5. Account security

1.5.1. A Member is responsible for ensuring that their user name and security details (including any personal identification number ('PIN'), password or Account number) ('Secure Member Details') are kept confidential. If a Member suspects that their Secure Member Details may no longer be confidential or that there may have been unauthorised use of their Account, they must notify Group 1 Sports immediately, and Group 1 Sports may provide the Member with new Secure Member Details. Where Group 1 Sports provides the Member with new Secure Member Details, Group 1 Sports reserves the right to invalidate any future transactions which attempt to utilise the previous Secure Member Details of that Member.

1.5.2. Where a Member wishes for another individual to have access to their Account or any Secure Member Details (including any family member, business or corporate entity or any other person whatsoever), this must first be approved by Group 1 Sports and details for that person provided. Group 1 Sports may refuse such request for access at its discretion. A Member remains solely responsible for their Account including but not limited to transactions, game entry fees paid and Account changes made by any authorized individual. Group 1 Sports reserves the right to request full certified identification documentation from any proposed nominee.

1.5.3. Subject to Rule 1.11.8, Members will be responsible for all game play on their Account in which their Secure Member Details are used.

1.5.4. Members should check the balance of their Account each time they log on to their Account or at the time they enter a game. In the event of a query, it is the Member's responsibility to notify Group 1 Sports immediately.

1.5.5. If minors have access to a laptop or computer that a Member uses to log into their Account, Group 1 Sports strongly recommends that a child protection software package is installed onto that equipment. Two such software applications are Cyber Patrol and Net Nanny.

1.5.6. Group 1 Sports’ Website contains adult content and is intended for use by persons over the age of 18.

1.5.7. In order to use the Group 1 Sports App we advise that location data from your device while using the app will be accessed and used by our integrated security systems to alert us to suspicious activity, for the purpose of protecting your account security and preventing fraud.​

1.6. Deposits and withdrawals

1.6.1. Deposits into an Account can be made by means of Credit card or Debit card. Group 1 Sports reserves the right to remove or restrict payment methods for Members who reside outside Australia.

1.6.2. Group 1 Sports reserves the right to remove or add payment options from time to time.

1.6.3. If Group 1 Sports determines that funds deposited are not for the purpose of playing games, Group 1 Sports may in its discretion decline the deposit, return the funds to the bank account used to fund the Group 1 Sports Account, and close the Member's Account.

1.6.4. If Group 1 Sports determines that the funds deposited are not from a funding instrument in the Member’s name or are not expressly authorised to be used by them, Group 1 Sports reserves the right to decline the deposit and return the funds to the original payment method. If this determination takes place after games have been entered, Group 1 Sports reserves the right to void any resulted or pending game play or game prizes on the Member’s Account.

1.6.5. If Group 1 Sports determines that there is not enough information to prove the owner of a particular payment option, we reserve the right to request certified documentation as proof of ownership prior to making any decision.

1.6.6. Group 1 Sports reserves the right to check directly with the Member’s funding institution that supplied the payment option used to deposit to confirm that the details provided by the Member to Group 1 Sports are valid and correct.

1.6.7. Group 1 Sports requires that any deposits into a Member's Account be turned over at least once or used to enter games prior to authorising a withdrawal from the Member's Account.

1.6.8. Group 1 Sports reserves the right to waive Rule 1.6.7 should the Member be restricted in stake while entering a game, if an error is made during a transaction, or for any other reason, determined at our discretion.

1.6.9. By depositing to Group 1 Sports you accept that at its discretion, Group 1 Sports may require a Member to return the value of their deposit back to the original funding instrument.

1.6.10. Group 1 Sports must comply with the Act. Should we consider that a deposit or withdrawal may potentially be fraudulent, we reserve the right to request proof of deposit or withdrawal bank account information to verify that the information provided is true and correct prior to permitting funds to be withdrawn from the Account.

1.6.11. If Group 1 Sports determines that the risk presented from a payment to or from an Account to be undesirable, Group 1 Sports reserves the right to cancel the deposit or withdrawal.

1.6.12. Subject to Rule 1.6.13, Group 1 Sports does not charge Members for Credit card deposit or withdrawal fees, although we may, at our discretion, charge a A$15.00 international telegraphic transfer fee for all international transfers. This fee will be deducted from the amount requested by the Member. Credit card holders may also incur a banking fee by their own banking institution on depositing funds with Group 1 Sports, this is the Credit card holders responsibility to pay.

1.6.13. Group 1 Sports reserves the right to pass on any transaction processing fees to Members who we determine to make deposits into their Account for purposes other than entering and playing games.

1.6.14. Members agree that as the account holder, you are the only person permitted to use your Group 1 Sports account (including accessing, playing games with, depositing funds into, and withdrawing funds from your Account). Third party bank account holders or credit card holders must not transact on an Account that has not been registered in their name.  Members must use their own or joint deposit and withdrawal methods.  If Group 1 Sports detects third party payments on an Account, Group 1 Sports reserves the right to suspend the Account and may request confirmation of permitted use from that third party.

1.6.15. If Group 1 Sports successfully identifies third party transactions on an Account, Group 1 Sports reserves the right to remedy the situation in its absolute discretion. Members accept that Group 1 Sports will review each situation on a case by case basis taking into account deposits, withdrawals, game play and any other information available. Members accept that when an Account has not been operated on a good faith basis (including where a person fails to disclose their identity or payment information) that Group 1 Sports may refuse future transactions and either allow or retrospectively void existing transactions at its discretion.

1.6.16. Group 1 Sports reserves the right to place limits on deposits and restrict or prohibit withdrawals on any Member's Account if the Member has not fulfilled the ID requirements specified in Rules 11-19 (inclusive) until those requirements have been satisfied.

1.6.17. Where a Supplementary Account (i.e. where one Account is already open) with Group 1 Sports exists, Group 1 Sports attempts to ensure it is closed. Supplementary Accounts are in breach of Group 1 Sports’ Rules, however Members are responsible for transactions on all Accounts they hold. This includes transferring self-exclusions and deposit limits to Supplementary Accounts.

1.7. Charge backs

1.7.1. Members agree and warrant that no charge-backs or other cancellation of deposits will be made relating to your Account without our consent. In the event of any of the foregoing occurring, you agree to indemnify us for any costs, claims, damages and expenses relating to or arising in connection with this, including any expense incurred by us in recovering such amounts.

1.7.2. If a Member disputes a financial transaction on their Account relating to a third party (e.g. Bank, eWallet), Group 1 Sports may temporarily suspend your Account, without notice, pending an investigation by us relating to the transaction. If we incur any loss as a result of that investigation, we reserve our right to recover such losses from you.

1.7.3. If you use any of Group 1 Sports banking specific options you accept that Group 1 Sports may request a certified or non-certified bank statement to verify where funds have originated from prior to any withdrawal being approved. You also accept that Group 1 Sports may decide to return these funds at its discretion and void game play or game prizes should it deem the funds may be unauthorized.

1.8. Fraud

1.8.1. Group 1 Sports reserves the right to withhold deposited funds and/or winnings from resulted game prizes should we determine that a Credit card has been misused or used fraudulently. Any matters of inappropriate or fraudulent use of any Credit card will be reported to the relevant authority. The Member's Account may also be permanently closed.

1.8.2. Group 1 Sports may employ third party technologies to track and store technical information on the device that Members choose to use. Members accept that this data may be used to reach decisions on investigations where Accounts have not been operated in good faith, including but not limited to Account takeover, bonus or gaming abuse, multiple Account operations, payment method abuse etc.

1.8.3. Group 1 Sports reserves the right to close the Accounts of, and void any or all game entries made by any person, group of people or corporation in an attempt to defraud Group 1 Sports.

1.8.4. Group 1 Sports may periodically review Accounts to monitor any activity that it might consider unusual. In this instance, Group 1 Sports reserves the right to suspend an Account pending a full investigation, without notice.

1.9. Group 1 Sports' rights and other matters

1.9.1. Group 1 Sports reserves the right to cancel, change or restrict the products or game types at any time with or without notice to Members.

1.9.2. In accordance with its NTRC Licence Conditions, Group 1 Sports maintains a separate bank account which contains sufficient funds to match every dollar of Member funds. This requirement is regularly monitored by the NTRC to ensure compliance.

1.9.3. Group 1 Sports has made considerable efforts to ensure that its fantasy sports gaming business operates in a fair, efficient and accurate manner. To the extent permitted by law, Group 1 Sports excludes all warranties (express or implied) relating to or arising out of the gaming services we offer and excludes any liability for direct, indirect or consequential loss, damage, expense or injury suffered by any Member arising out of:
a) the Rules;
b) use by a Member of their Account; or
c) any action taken by Group 1 Sports in relation to a Member's Account.

1.9.4. Nothing in these Rules affects our liability:
a) to pay any Member winnings or other amounts properly owing to such Member pursuant to these Rules;
b) for death or personal injury arising from our negligence;
c) for our fraudulent misrepresentation; or
d) for any matter in respect of which our liability cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law

1.9.5. Subject to Rule 1.10.3 and 1.10.4, and to the extent permitted by law, Group 1 Sports liability in respect of any claim or loss shall be limited in amount to the relevant game entry fee paid by a Member.

1.9.6. A Member may only have one Account. If a Member has additional Account(s), then the Account balances of all associated Accounts shall be transferred into the first Account opened by the Member ('First Account'.) Further:
a) if, after such transfers the First Account has a debit balance, then Group 1 Sports shall be entitled to receive payment immediately upon written request to the Member to clear the debit balance; or
b) if, after such transfers there is a credit balance in the First Account, the credit balance will be held by Group 1 Sports until such time as a determination has been made by Group 1 Sports as to whether or not there has been a breach of these Rules.

1.9.7. If, in addition to your Account, you also hold an account with a related body corporate (as defined in the Corporations Act 2001) of Group 1 Sports ('other account'), you agree that we may set off any amount in your other account against any amount which is due and payable by you in relation to your Account.

1.9.8. Group 1 Sports products and game types are intended for bona fide Members, that is, those Members who act in good faith, sincerely, without fraud, and who play games with Group 1 Sports for the purpose of recreation and entertainment.

1.9.9. Group 1 Sports reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine that a Member is not eligible for certain products, game types or promotions.

1.9.10. Group 1 Sports reserves the right to close or suspend the Accounts of, and/or void or allow to stand any or all games played by any person where, in Group 1 Sports’ reasonable opinion, the Account has not been operated with integrity and/or the game has not been played on a good faith basis including (without limitation) where a person:

  • knowingly exploits, or intentionally seeks, to exploit a market or a Rule (including by deception);

  • seeks to manipulate the outcome of a market (whether or not for personal gain);

  • receives an unjust advantage from information which is not known to the public; or

  • intentionally abuses an inadvertent error in the description of a market (whether before or after Group 1 Sports corrects the relevant descriptor).

1.9.11. Where a Member has been referred to Group 1 Sports by a third party including by a third party operated website and where that third party is an affiliate or agent of Group 1 Sports, you acknowledge that Group 1 Sports may make commission payments to that third party. Payments to agents or affiliates are unrelated to the prize money offered to Members by Group 1 Sports.

1.9.12. As a responsible holder of a bookmaker license Group 1 Sports offers its Members the ability to control the amount they spend on paid game play by setting a limit on the amount they can deposit to their Account per day, week or month (referred to as a deposit limit.)

1.9.13. Any reference to a discretion which may be exercised by Group 1 Sports under these Rules means Group 1 Sports' sole and absolute discretion.

1.10. Placement and acceptance of game entries

1.10.1. All funds used for game entries on an Account are considered to be placed and received in the NT, Australia.

1.10.2. Group 1 Sports does not represent or warrant that any paid game play by a Member on their Account or the acceptance of any game entry fees on an Account by Group 1 Sports complies with the legal requirements of any state or country other than the NT. Members must satisfy themselves (and assume full responsibility for) the legality of:
a) applying to Group 1 Sports for an Account;
b) remitting funds by Credit card or other permitted means to an Account;
c) engaging in paid game play with Group 1 Sports; and
d) receiving winnings from Group 1 Sports.

1.10.3. Group 1 Sports reserves the right at any time to refuse any game entry fees without providing a reason or advance notification. The circumstances in which we may refuse a Member's game entry include but are not limited to:
a) a Member is or may be less than 18 years of age;
b) a Member is or may be playing on behalf of a person who is less than 18 years of age;
c) a Member is or may be in breach of these Rules;
d) a Member is or may be in breach of any applicable law; or
e) a Member's proposed game entry or game play would present an unacceptable liability risk to our business. Whether there is an unacceptable liability risk to us for the purpose of this Rule is at Group 1 Sports’ discretion.

1.10.4. Group 1 Sports reserves the right to close and/or impose limits on a Member's Account and refund the balance of their Account, without providing reasons. In this event, we will honour any outstanding games already entered on behalf of the Account, unless the Member's Account has been used for any fraudulent transaction or purpose, in which case any such game entries will be void.

1.10.5. When a Member enters a game on their Account via a Group 1 Sports App, it is accepted once the Member submits the game entry and it is accepted by the App.

1.10.6. Members are unable to change or cancel a game entry once the entry fee has been accepted by Group 1 Sports unless the Member can demonstrate to Group 1 Sports’ satisfaction that the initial game entry was made in error; in which case Group 1 Sports may, at its discretion, void the initial game entry and request the initial game entry must be replaced with another game entry.

1.10.7. Group 1 Sports reserves the right to provide an Australian governing sporting body (defined below), with:
a) records or documents in the possession or control of Group 1 Sports relating to game play and/or transactions of the Member; and
b) the name, contact details and similar identifying information in the possession or control of Group 1 Sports relating to that Member.

1.10.8 Such information will only be provided to assist in a legitimate inquiry conducted by an Australian governing sporting body to maintain the integrity of the sport. For the avoidance of doubt, the Member consents to Group 1 Sports providing the above information to an Australian governing sporting body.

1.10.9. For the purposes of this Rule, 'Australian governing sporting body' is an Australian sports organisation that has a regulatory or sanctioning function and includes each of the Australian State and Territory Thoroughbred Racing, Harness Racing and Greyhound Racing peak bodies.

1.11. Errors

1.11.1. Group 1 Sports endeavours to ensure that no errors are made in creating games including but not limited to errors in Race Day field data (races, competitors, race times, etc.) and horse form data offered. However, we reserve the right to correct errors and to void any games prior to or after an event in circumstances where a game entry has been accepted and where there has been a material technical, human or other error in setting up a game and/or in accepting a game entry or game entry fee.

1.11.2. Where a game entry is voided by Group 1 Sports prior to an event commencing, Group 1 Sports will endeavour to contact the Member by email or game push notification promptly to inform them that the game entry has been voided.

1.12. Responsible Gambling

1.12.1. Group 1 Sports:

(a) makes every reasonable effort to prevent self-excluded customers from returning and using our service;
(b) provides pre-commitment facilities to help you control your spend; and
(c) provides a self-exclusion facility to help you if you feel that you have developed a paid gaming problem. At your request, we will prevent you from using your Account indefinitely. To this end, we may retain such personal information as is necessary (and for as long as is necessary) to implement the self-exclusion facility as effectively as possible, including the following information: your name, address and payment details. For information on problem paid gaming and gambling generally, please follow the links at the bottom of this and/or other pages of the Website.

1.12.2. If you are a self-excluded customer: (a) you must not attempt to open an Account or enter any games with us (using your Account or otherwise); (b) you are fully liable for your actions, and for all activity and game entries placed on your Account; and (c) subject to these Rules, if Group 1 Sports considers that you have deliberately circumvented our controls (e.g. by opening a duplicate Account) and played games while you are self-excluded: (i) open/pending games will be voided and the original stake returned to your Account; (ii) resulted game results and prizes will stand; and (iii) the balance of your Account will be returned to you.

1.12.3. Group 1 Sports marketing and communications are aimed at over 18’s only. Group 1 Sports does not market to individuals for whom paid gaming or gambling has become a problem.

1.13. Dispute Resolution

1.13.1. These Rules shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the NT, each Member irrevocably submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the NT Courts in respect of any dispute arising out of or relating to these Rules or the provision by Group 1 Sports of goods or services to Members ('Dispute').

1.13.2. If any Dispute cannot be resolved between Group 1 Sports and the Member, the Dispute must be referred to a representative of the NTRC via the online 'gambling dispute form' found at https://nt.gov.au/industry/gambling/gambling/complain-about-a-bookmaker-or-betting-exchange-operator#:~:text=If%20you%20wish%20to%20make,NT%20on%2008%208999%201800 for final determination. A Dispute must be lodged with the NTRC within 14 days of the Dispute arising. The decision of the NTRC is final and binding on Group 1 Sports and the Member. Nothing in this Rule precludes a party from seeking urgent interlocutory relief from a Court if such relief is reasonably required.

1.13.3. No rule of contract interpretation may be applied in the interpretation of these Rules to the disadvantage of a party on the basis that it prepared or put forward these Rules or any document forming part of these Rules.

1.14. Inactive Accounts

1.14.1. From 1st January 2022, your Account will become inactive if you have not made a deposit or entered a paid game on your Account for a period of more than 18 months ('Inactive Account'). To keep an Inactive Account open you must pay a fee of $10 per month ('Administration Cost') which will be deducted from your Inactive Account (unless your Account balance is $0).  To avoid the Administration Cost, you can simply either enter a paid game or withdraw your funds into your bank account.  If this occurs your Account will no longer be deemed an Inactive Account.

1.15. Significant Events 

To the extent there is any inconsistency between these general terms and rules applying to a specific event or race, the following general terms will prevail.

1.16.1 Unexpected events and other changes

If an event(s) occurs beyond the reasonable control of Group 1 Sports such as an epidemic, pandemic, flood, fire, earthquake, element of nature or act of God, act of war, terrorism, riot, rebellion, strike, blockade, labour disruption or other cause, that materially impact any sporting, racing or other event (or a series of events or races in a season) which is the subject of a contingency or outcome of a game offered by Group 1 Sports, Group 1 Sports may (acting in good faith) exercise its discretion to void, cancel, restrict or otherwise alter or adjust the payout (in whole or in part) of the affected game play on the relevant games (including, without limitation, retrospectively take any of the actions contemplated above once game has been struck and before or after it has resulted).  For the avoidance of doubt, an “impact” on any sporting, racing or other event includes, without limitation:

- any reduction in the number of games, matches or race meetings in a season;

- any material change in the length of a game or match or when the matches are played or races are run;

- a material change to the format or rules of the relevant event(s), series, competition or race(s) as determined by the relevant sports or racing body; or

- a change in the location of any match, game, race or event.

16.16.2 Material changes to events declared by racing or sporting codes

Where a sporting or racing body announces or declares a material change to the structure of a competition, event or race (including, but not limited to, the number of players in match, matches or races in season or the time, location or date of the event(s) or race(s)), and Group 1 Sports considers (acting reasonably) that such change will have a material impact on a market or game type taken on, or involving, that competition, event(s) or race(s), all games relating to the affected events, races and/or market(s) may be voided by Group 1 Sports at its discretion (acting reasonably and as soon as reasonably practicable following a relevant announcement). All affected games rely on a number or series of races occurring within a season which are cancelled, will be recalculated accordingly.
